Alpacas - The Investment |
15
years ago, alpacas were only found in South America
and mainly in Peru (1.9 million). Despite import
controls, strict quarantine regulations, a slow
breeding rate (one cria per year) and no artificial
insemination program, alpacas are now firmly
established in Australia, New Zealand, North America
and England and emerging herds are now to be found
in Germany, Israel, France and Japan.
Alpacas offer a strong return on investment while
providing the owner with so much joy and satisfaction.
